TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federal program funded by the United States Department of Education. Each year we assist 160 eligible participants by offering a variety of services aimed at increasing the success rate of students at Los Angeles City College. Our goal is to help you achieve your goals!
Our Mission
The Student Support Services (SSS) program assists low-income, first generation and/or disabled students by providing opportunities for academic development, assistance with basic college requirements, and serving to motivate students towards the successful completion of their postsecondary education. The program specifically supports students who have a strong interest in obtaining an Associate’s degree or Certificate and transferring to a four-year university. SSS also provides grant aid to a limited number of current participants who are receiving Federal Pell Grants. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next.
